This short film entitled “KASET PITA” tells the story of a young content creator named Damar. During his journey as a content creator, Damar faced several challenges in the form of blasphemy on social media for the content he created which was considered ugly and inferior. After that, he saw that social media content that was really bad, such as flexing, received good comments and responses from netizens, so he considered creating similar content. However, he finally realized his deceased father's message that inspired him to create content that presented Serdam, a traditional musical instrument from Lampung. In the end, the content about Serdam received a good response from the audience because it was considered more quality and a form of cultural preservation.
The meaning contained in this movie is the importance of being responsible for what we make by considering its impact on others. It is also about how we have to hold on to what we believe in like Damar's belief to create quality content.
If I were in Damar's shoes, I would do the same thing, which is to maintain my belief in making quality content despite the bad comments and not just go with the flow like making flexing content. I would probably experience the same thing as Damar, which is the desire to gain popularity and good responses. However, I will still try to strengthen my stance and convince myself of the responsibility I have, just like Damar did.
I personally think Damar's choice is a very wise one. Most people would choose to create content based on what is considered good for the audience, but not Damar. Damar still prioritizes the benefits for the people around him and understands his responsibility for what he makes. The choice made by Damar is a tough one to make for most people. However, Damar managed to make the decision with full confidence, so that he could provide more benefits for the people around him.
